The LeBoeuf Pen Company honors French Impressionist painter Claude Monet (1840-1926) with this stunning limited edition fountain pen. The entire Impressionist movement was set in motion with a single work of art, a light and airy landscape painting: Monet’s Impression, Sunrise, painted in 1872 and first shown at what would become known as the Exhibition of the Impressionists in Paris in April 1874. The iconic painting depicts the port of Le Havre in the northwest of France, Claude Monet’s hometown, at sunrise. The painting is almost entirely of color and light, emphasizing the breaking sunlight and its undulating reflections, perfectly capturing the morning light in evanescent detail with his palette of gray, blue and orange. The LeBoeuf Claude Monet Fountain Pen features a one-of-a-kind acrylic barrel that captures the iconic painting’s color scheme, highlighted by clip, trim and coin bearing the artist’s likeness, all plated in gold. The fountain pen has a 14kt gold-plated nib in Fine or Medium.
